United States of America (Press Release) April 3, 2008 -- Coconut Creek, Florida, United States (Press Release) April 3, 2008–
SOS Children’s Villages – Florida is celebrating 15 years of nurturing and caring for foster children this year. To mark the occasion, the organization is hosting a gala birthday party, 15 and Fabulous, on Sunday, April 27, 2008 at Boca West Country Club for friends, family, and the community.
“Over the past 15 years, we have watched so many foster children grow and thrive at SOS” states SOS Children’s Villages – Florida’s Chief Executive Officer Marjory Bruszer. “Seeing our children as young adults come “back home” is truly an indication of what SOS means in terms of nurturing, reuniting brothers and sisters, and stability. Our village truly is their home.”
The gala evening will honor special guest ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition star Eduardo Xol with the “Spirit of Home” award. The organization gives this special recognition to individuals who, like SOS Children’s Villages, makes outstanding efforts to bring joy and security to families in need.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to share this wonderful occasion with SOS and I am humbled to be recognized for my efforts to help families in need,” says Xol. “While we have different methods, our goal is the same…to create a new home.”
The evening’s festivities will include a gourmet dinner, live and silent auctions, and fabulous entertainment. The auctions will feature amazing items such as Celebrity Voicemails, an Exclusive VIP Tour of the CSI Miami Set, A Framed Lithograph by Dale Chihuly, Vacation at an Italian Villa, Diamond Jewelry, Vacation Cruises, Golf Packages at Courses across South Florida, and much more. Proceeds from the evening will help SOS Children’s Villages – Florida continue to provide homes and a family for up to 66 foster children who reside in the Village.
